93rd Academy Awards: Davis, Boseman snubbed; Black women make history in makeup, hair
The 93rd Academy Awards was held on Sunday in Los Angeles and numerous creators of color were among the nominees and winners.
Six years after #OscarsSoWhite called out the lack of diversity, multiple actors, actresses and artists of color took home the coveted award, but there were some upsets.

History was made in the “Makeup and Hairstyling” category. Mia Neal and Jamika Wilson of Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom were the first Black women to be nominated and win the category.
