‘Ada Twist, Scientist’ Celebrates Friendship, Curiosity in Animated Netflix Series

Former president Barack Obama and his equally relevant counterpart Michelle are celebrating STEM education with their latest Higher Ground Productions project. 

Ada Twist, Scientist is an animated series for preschoolers that will premiere on Netflix on September 28. The animated series follows the adventures of an eight-year-old Black girl and scientist named Ada as she joins forces with her best friends, Rosie Revere and Iggy Peck, to learn everything about the world around her and solve mysteries along the way, per Essence’s Victoria Uwumarogie

“Exploding cakes, flying bananas and what is that smell!? Find out when Ada Twist loads up her lab and discovers how cool science really is! Ada Twist coming to Netflix this fall!” per its official YouTube description.

Each 26-minute episode will conclude with a live-action segment featuring a real scientist discussing the concepts discussed in the episodes and how their work relates to them, per Uwumarogie. 

Higher Ground Productions was created in 2018 with the goal of presenting stories that reflect the Obamas’ ideals and principles throughout their life.
