In SummaryAri Lennox is safe following an ordeal that led to her arrest at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol.
Ari Lennox fans can sleep peacefully knowing the singer is “safe” following an altercation that led to her arrest in Amsterdam.
“Hey loves I’m safe. Thank you so much for your prayers and love,” the “Pressure” singer shared via Twitter on Thursday.
In a series of tweets on Monday, Lennox accused Amsterdam Airport Schiphol security of hating Black people and said she was arrested for her reaction to being racially profiled by a woman.
Dutch military police, who are in charge of security at the airport, previously disputed those claims. In a statement to Reuters, a spokesperson said the R&B singer was detained for her violent behavior toward an airline official.
“Our unit found a woman full of emotions that wouldn’t calm down,” said police spokesperson Robert van Kapel. “That’s why she had to be taken into custody.”
van Kapel also alleged Lennox was drunk in public and “threatened staff of an airline and security at the airport,” per Entertainment Tonight.
The claimed assault happened shortly after Lennox’s performance at the 2021 BET Soul Train Awards, which aired over the weekend.
