A white U.S. Army sergeant was arrested for harassing a Black man in South Carolina Wednesday after video of the incident went viral.
U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Jonathon Pentland of Fort Jackson for third-degree assault and battery.
The video of the incident, which took place on Monday, shows Petland threatening a Black man and telling him to leave the neighborhood.

The Black man, who has not been identified, said he was going on a walk.
Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott held a press conference about the incident on Wednesday.
According to WSAV, the incident happed at The Summit in Columbia and protesters gathered in the area Wednesday demanding justice.
The protests at the Pentland home have become violent. The family was removed after it was vandalized. They were moved to another location and the neighborhood is being closed off except to residents. Please stay out of the area

A Command Sergeant Major for Fort Jackson tweeted about the incident and said it is under investigation.
We are aware of the video and it has our full attention. This type of behavior is not consistent with our Army Values and will not be condoned. We have begun our own investigation and are working with the local authorities. We will get to the bottom of this ASAP! Thank you!
