Attorney, legal analyst Midwin Charles dead at 47, family announced

Midwin Charles, a defense attorney and legal analyst for CNN and MSNBC, has died at the age of 47. 

Charles’s family announced her “untimely passing” on Twitter Tuesday night.

A cause of death was not announced. 

Charles was the founder of Midwin Charles & Associates LLC. 

She was also a contributor at ESSENCE Magazine as well as a commentator on CNN, HLN, MSNBC, Bloomberg, and TV One. 

Charles is a graduate of Syracuse University and American University’s Washington College of Law. 

Tributes began flooding social media after the news of her death.
