Authorities Arrest Man for Allegedly Shooting Undercover Federal Agents

Cops have arrested a man on Wednesday connected to a shooting that’s left a Chicago police officer and two federal agents injured.

Eugene McLaurin was charged with one count of using a deadly weapon to assault a special agent from the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, Newsweek reported. Law enforcement officials said that he waived his Miranda rights and agreed to speak to the cops.

The shooting happened near Chicago’s Morgan Park neighborhood. ATF agents and officers from its task force were conducting a federal investigation at the time of the incident.

Law enforcement officials were released Wednesday evening after being treated at a hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
