‘Biz Markie Way’; Late Rapper to Get Street Named After Him

 Legendary rapper Biz Markie will have a street named after him in Long Island, New York. 

Oh, baby, Long Island got what Biz Markie fans needed. 

The legendary rapper will have a street named after him in his hometown of Patchogue, Long Island. Tara Davis, the widow of one of the trailblazers of hip-hop, announced the news via Instagram on Wednesday. 

“In honor of the contributions Biz has achieved as an actor, beatboxer, DJ and philanthropist, his hometown of Patchogue Long Island will honor him with the renaming of South Street to Biz Markie Way!” Davis wrote in her Instagram post. 

The street will be named Biz Markie Way.

The event will take place on Saturday September 25 at 2 p.m. EST. It will be located at the staging area behind the 6th District Court, at 150 West Main Street, Patchogue , NY 11772 Southwest Parking lot. 
“All are welcome,” Davis wrote. 

After a long bout with type 2 diabetes, Biz Markie passed away in July. The “Just A Friend” rapper was well beloved across the country and is considered a pioneer of hip-hop.
