Black News Channel Announces Partnership with TiVo to Add BNC 24/7 to the TiVo+™ Content Network

Tallahassee, Florida – October 15, 2020 – The Black News Channel (BNC), the nation’s only culturally specific 24/7 news network that reflects the Black community’s diverse viewpoints, today announced a partnership with TiVo to deliver BNC 24/7 to the TiVo+ content networks.

The TiVo+ content network includes movies, TV shows, live news, sports, kids, and music programming alongside TV and subscription services people already use and love.

BNC is now available on premiere TiVo products and TiVo-supported cable services. TiVo Stream 4K, available at Walmart and Amazon integrates all of your favorite subscription streaming services and, best of all, includes BNC and more than 140 channels FREE with no subscription required.

With this partnership, TiVo+ viewers will now have access to the more extended and in-depth news programs available on BNC 24/7 including BNC First, BNC 24/7 Live (Studio B) and BNC First in Review, as well as Black News Channel topical shows DC Today, The Kelly Wright Show, Being a Woman, All Things Men, and more.

“BNC gives voice to the varied experiences and issues that matter to African Americans,” shared BNC President/CEO Princell Hair. “TiVo+ viewers will now have the opportunity to see coverage of those issues of the day in a way that is fresh, bright, and more complete.”

“News is a mission-critical category for TiVo+ and we’re delighted to be able to offer The Black News Channel to our viewers as part of the TiVo+ content network.  Diversity and high-quality programming are core to the success of TiVo+ and BNC represents both.” said Matt Milne, Chief Revenue Officer at TiVo.

BNC continues to provide extended Prime News reporting on the devastating health and economic impact of COVID-19 on America with a particular focus on the impact on the Black community. And BNC’s continuing special coverage of the 2020 presidential campaign as part of its election reporting provides relevant context not always featured on other news channels. click here

About BNC

Black News Channel is an independent network that is minority-owned and operated, and the nation’s only provider of 24/7 cable news programming dedicated to covering the unique perspective of African American communities. BNC provides access to information and educational programming to meet the specific needs of this growing and dynamic community that is a major consumer of subscription television services. BNC delivers an authentic, new voice that represents African Americans in mainstream media and fosters political, economic, and social discourse; the network is one voice representing the many voices of African Americans. BNC’s programming illuminates truth about the unique challenges facing urban communities and helps close the “image gap” that exists today between the negative Black stereotypes perpetuated by mainstream media news and our enterprising African American communities.
