Black-owned app ANJEL Tech serving as body camera for people of color

A Black-owned app called ANJEL Tech was created to serve as a personal body camera for people of color.

The app’s creator James A. Samuel Jr., who served as a fighter pilot, was motivated by the idea of using the power of technology to benefit disenfranchised communities.

The app’s mission is to make sure the lives of people of color aren’t cut short in preventable tragedies and police violence.

“Our team’s core mission is to make sure that People of Color make it to the moments that count. We commit everything we have to celebrating and cultivating black brilliance, and that starts with the very simple act of making sure our folks live to see another day.”

The ANJEL Tech app must be downloaded to a person’s mobile device with location services enabled. Once an account is registered, verified and a part of a plan, the user can choose viewers from their contact list.

This allows their family and friends to be notified and have access to the user’s streams.

Once a stream is started, all the viewers will be notified with a text and email and they can watch in real-time.

Viewers not only have access to the stream, but they can also see the user’s location.

The  ANJEL Tech app is $4.99 for an individual plan, $9.99 for a family plan and $16.99 for a plan that covers eight people.

Interested participants can claim a free 30-day-trial.
