BNT Exclusive: Dr. Umar Johnson on His Academy for Black Boys, Race & More

Marc Lamont Hill sits down with certified school psychologist and Panafrikanist, Dr. Umar Johnson on the delays on his new school for Black boys. “What’s most important is that we get the school done,” Johnson says.

Johnson also addresses his perceived comments to Kevin Samuels about Black women. “I make it a point, when at all possible, to not respond to individuals whose intellectual competence I consider to be far below my own,” he says.

Johnson also shared his thoughts on Black men accused of sexual assault. “I’m seeing entire careers being destroyed based off of allegations where the new rationale says that if ten women say it, it’s true.”
