Body Found in Florida Confirmed as Miya Marcano

A body found in a wooded area on Saturday has been confirmed as missing student Miya Marcano.

The medical examiner in Orange County, Florida, has confirmed the death of 19-year-old Miya Marcano on Tuesday.  

Marcano’s body was found in a wooded area near an apartment complex in Orlando on Saturday. “A positive identification of a female whose body was recovered in a wooded area on October 2, 2021, has been identified as Miya Marcano,” Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Joshua Stephany said in a statement.

Marcano was last seen at her apartment complex in Orlando on September 24. A 27-year-old maintenance worker at the complex, Armando Caballero, was the main suspect in Marcano’s disappearance. Police found his body in his apartment, where he died by suicide.

According to CNN, the case remains “under active law enforcement investigation,” per the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.
