“I remember that I was looking for Bette Davis’s hand and footprints. That’s all I wanted to see. But the thing that struck me was why it took me so long to find her footprints is because I kept getting hit with someone else’s,” said King, according to ABC 7.
According to a report in Variety, King, a Los Angeles native, expanded on her childhood visit by speaking about the number of stars she had seen on the walkway in front of the historic theatre.
“I’m born and bred in L.A., when we got to see a film at the Chinese Theatre it was always an event because we could put our hands and feet on the prints of the movie stars,” King said, according to Variety.
King’s multifaceted career spans for years starting from her debut on the hit sitcom 227. She has played several roles across multiple genres and platforms. From her role in cult classic Boyz n the Hood to her Oscar-winning role in If Beale Street Could Talk, even lending her voice to everyone’s favorite modern-day revolutionaries Huey and Riley Freeman from the hit animated series The Boondocks, King has been a force in the entertainment industry.
