The container ship stuck in the Suez Canal, which caused significant traffic, has been refloated.

Admiral Osama Rabie, Managing Director of the canal authority, made the announcement Monday morning.

Rabie said international navigation would resume immediately after the restoration of the container ship’s direction to the Bitter Lakes.

The Ever Given became stuck in the canal sideways during a dust storm that caused increased winds.

The blockage caused traffic in the canal, which is one of the world’s busiest shipping areas.

Nearly 19,000 ships passed through the canal in 2020, with an average of 51.5 vessels traveling per day.
