“Dads on Duty” is formed by fathers who want to crack down on the violence at Southwood High school in Louisiana.A group of 40 dads descended on Southwood High School in Louisiana to create a positive, safe space for their children after 23 students were arrested stemming from multiple fights, CBS reported.

Michael LaFitte told CBS News he started Dads on Duty because “We decided the best people who can take care of kids are who? Are us,” said the group’s founder Michael LaFitte.
Since the group formed, there have been no fights on campus, with one student explaining, “The school has just been happy, and you can feel it.”
While on campus, the fathers become a role model for the children as they encourage the kids to do their best, tell dad jokes, dispense out life advice or just be a support system with their presence.
The group plans on becoming a permanent fixture at Southwood High school, and “Dads on Duty” has a vision to spread this organization across the country.
“Because not everybody has a father figure at home – or a male, period, in their life. So just to be here makes a big difference,”
