Damon Weaver, kid reporter who interviewed President Obama, dies at 23

The student reporter who interviewed President Barack Obama at the White House in 2009 has died, his family told the Palm Beach Post. Damon Weaver passed away on May 1st at 23 years old.

He studied communications at Albany State University in Georgia, where he received a full scholarship, the Associated Press reported.

Weaver had a sit-down interview with Obama when he was eleven years old, asking him education-focused questions.

“He was just a nice person, genuine, very intelligent,” his sister, Candace Hardy, said. “Very outspoken, outgoing. He never said no to anybody.”
