DMX’s children believe his estate is worth less than $1 million or $50K
The late rap icon DMX left behind an estate worth less than $1 million. According to NY Daily News, the figure appeared in court documents filed by five of his 15 children. This comes as a shock to many as he sold more than 74 million albums and appeared in multiple movies.
The May 10 court filing came from his daughters Sasha Simmons and Jada Oden. The May 21 filing came from his sons Xavier, Tacoma and Sean Simmons. All five are seeking to become administrators of the rapper’s estate.

During his career, DMX had five consecutive albums that were No. 1 between 1998 and 2003. After rising to prominence in music, he became a successful actor in multiple films, including Cradle 2 the Grave, Romeo Must Die, Exit Wounds, Never Die Alone, Beyond the Law and Belly.
His financial woes come from his battle with drug addiction that led to arrests, time in rehab and a conviction for tax evasion in 2018. He also was charged with failure to pay $400,000 in child support.
A source familiar with the estate thinks the value will increase. They told the NY Daily News, “I don’t doubt it. This music will last into eternity.”
