Emma Grede will be appearing on the show.
Grede co-founded the Good American fashion brand with Khloe Kardashian, and is a founding partner of SKIMS, the fashion brand co-founded by Kim Kardashian West.
Grede will join returning sharks Mark Cuban, Barbara Corcoran, Kevin O’Leary and Lori Greiner as the five Sharks will take pitches from four entrepreneurs vying for investments from the stars.
According to an article from Popculture, Grede knows a successful idea when she hears one, citing that when she joined Kardashian’s brand’s launch, they brought in $1 million in revenue on the first day.
“The challenge is getting the industry to see that it’s not just a trend, it’s the future of business. This movement can feel superficial because not all retailers will put their money where their mouth is,” Grede explained in a 2019 interview with Forbes.
In a report from Chicago affiliate News 7, Grede is joining the show with a mission of lifting up women founders of color.
“It’s much more about supporting women, Black women, founders of color, that’s really what I was focused on,” Grede said. “We all know the stats, the investment and the fundraising is low on the ground for certain groups, especially women and so for me, that was really my focus.”
The Shark Tank season premiere is Friday, October 8 at 8 p.m. EST.
