British actress Michaela Coel has joined the cast of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, the sequel to director Ryan Coogler’s Marvel film Black Panther.

The first Black Panther, starring Chadwick Boseman, grossed over $1.3 billion worldwide, per Donnelly. The script for the film’s sequel has since been reworked since Boseman’s death in Aug. 2020 following a battle with colon cancer.

“It’s clearly very emotional without Chad,” Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige shared with Variety in June. “But everyone is also very excited to bring the world of Wakanda back to the public and back to the fans. We’re going to do it in a way that would make Chad proud.”
