Family of 9-Year-Old Trampled at Travis Scott Concert Hires Ben Crump

In Summary

Ezra Blount was placed in a medically induced coma following the deadly concert, which saw him get seriously injured.

The family of Ezra Blount, a 9-year-old boy who was trampled at Travis Scott’s Astroworld concert on Friday, has hired attorney Ben Crump to represent them and to help get answers.

Ezra was placed in a medically induced coma following the deadly concert, where he got seriously injured. His grandmother told BNC doctors have been trying to get him off medication to get him out of the coma, but it isn’t working.

“We’re trying to get all evidence so we can not only get justice for those who were injured, but also so we can prevent this from happening again, and nobody would lose their high school children at a concert,” Crump told BNC.

Ezra’s grandfather, Bernon Blount, told CNN his son passed out at the concert unable to breathe when people began pushing, resulting in his grandson falling off his dad’s shoulder and into the crowd.

Nearly 50,000 people attended Astroworld last week in Houston when the crowd began to surge toward the stage, resulting in people panicking, BNC previously reported.

Scott’s lawyers said in a statement that Houston officials need to stop “finger-pointing” about who’s responsible for the deaths.

The rapper announced he would cover the funeral costs of those killed at the concert, as well as aid in providing free mental health services through BetterHelp.
