Levar Burton wants to be the new host of the hit game show Jeopardy!, and it seems like he has the support of thousands of people.

Former Reading Rainbow host LeVar Burton has made it clear that he wishes to step in as the new Jeopardy! Host and petition are going around to make that happen gained momentum.

A fan-created Change.org petition states that Burton has plenty of experience, including hosting Reading Rainbow for more than two decades. It also highlights Burton as an accomplished actor with credits like Star Trek: The Next Generation and Roots.

“Leaving this here if the powers that be are listening,” Burton said in a tweet with a link to sign the petition. As of Tuesday, the petition is nearing 200,000 signatures.

There have been some notable guest hosts filling in during the search for Alex Trebek’s replacement, such as journalist Katie Couric and Ken Jennings, the show’s winningest contestant.

“Even if nothing comes from it, I can’t tell how much how I appreciate all y’all’s love and support!” Levar tweeted.

Trebek, who hosted Jeopardy! for 37 seasons, died in November after a two-year battle with pancreatic cancer.
