The man entered the school by shooting through a glass door at the entryway and immediately fired at a school administrator, striking the victim in the back.
According to a tweet, Houston police were dispatched to 4400 Anderson Road at Hiram Clarke around 11:45 a.m. Friday. Parents were urged to reunite with their children at West Fuqua and Hiram Clarke as authorities blocked off the road to investigate.

“I don’t think any kid or anybody should witness this but it’s the world that we live in,” said Houston police chief Troy Finner, per Click 2 Houston. “The most important thing—a lot of the time people don’t seek help. For any kids or any school administrator or anybody involved with this, seek some help through counseling.”
YES Prep Southwest Secondary educates students in grades 6 through 12 in Houston’s underserved communities. It had 1,010 students in the 2019-2020 academic year, per Texas Tribune data.
