In Summary
Hip-hop trio The Fugees ignited excitement with the announcement of a reunion tour earlier this year, but the group has since delayed the tour until 2022.The Fugees’ much anticipated reunion tour has been postponed, the group announced on Instagram.
The group, which was to hit the stage on Tuesday at the United Center in Chicago, will go on tour in 2022 to “ensure the best chance that all cities on the tour are fully open so Fugees can perform for as many fans as possible.”
Tuesday’s show has been moved to March 2, 2022; everyone with a ticket will be granted access to the 2022 concert.
The cancellation of this recent Fugees concert marks a first for the group, but this is the second offense for singer and rapper Lauryn Hill, who had to step away from a Sept. 25 solo show at Ravinia Festival in order to get ready for the Fugees reunion tour.
The tour will be the first time in 15 years that Hill and her groupmates Wyclef Jean and Pras Michel have performed together. The tour is also a celebration of their sophomore album The Score which was released 25 years ago. The Score sold 22 million records worldwide and became one of the best-selling hip-hop albums of all time.
