GOP-led states see rise in COVID-19 infections

Marc Lamont Hill opens up “Black News Tonight” discussing remains found in graves in Tulsa, Oklahoma, that officials are working to confirm if they belong to victims of the Tulsa Massacre.   

Eight states are seeing an increase in COVID-19 infections, with seven of the eight states being Republican-led states. Those states are also trailing in vaccination rates.   

Philadelphia released a measure to ban ATV and dirt bikes after residents complained about disruption in the area.   

“When we see measures like this in urban cities around the United States, part of it is a response to neighbor complaints, but much of it is also about criminalizing the most vulnerable people in our society,” Hill said. “There are so many ways to respond to something other than a criminal response.”
