It’s unclear how many employees tested positive, but according to Sard’s statement, some of the employees are having mild to moderate symptoms so far, and those who tested positive must quarantine themselves.
A number of employees have also been urged not to report to work “out of an abundance of caution.”
“In addition, we are strongly discouraging all bureaus, units and departments from hosting off-site holiday parties,” Sard said in the letter, per NY Daily News. “We urge you to get a COVID-19 vaccine booster right now if you still have not received one.”
An increase in COVID-19 cases across New York has forced the reinstatement of precautionary measures, ranging from facial coverings being required inside all public spaces as well as colleges and universities going back to remote learning.
