Iman Shumpert: First NBA Player To Score ‘Dancing With the Stars’ Win

In Summary

Iman Shumpert just danced his way into history, becoming the first former NBA player to win Dancing With the Stars alongside his partner Daniella Karagach.

Iman Shumpert is a man of many talents, known for being a former professional basketball player, a rapper, Teyana Taylor’s husband—and now the season 30 winner of ABC’s Dancing With the Stars.

On Monday night, Shumpert danced alongside his partner Daniella Karagach as he became the first NBA player to achieve the goal, per ESPN

Team DanIman became a fan favorite this season, showcasing a wide range of skills while executing flawless moves in a variety of routines. This included a jazz routine set to Kanye West’s “Dark Fantasy” and a contemporary routine set to “I Got 5 On It (Tethered Mix)” inspired by Jordan Peele’s critically acclaimed horror film “Us.”

The duo got into character by wearing red jumpsuits and producing the same terrifying facial expressions and mannerisms as the movie’s deadly doppelgängers, which paid off in the end as it earned them their first perfect score.

As someone who is married to dancer and choreographer Teyana Taylor, Shumpert was bound to put his best foot forward every time he touched the dance floor. Literally.

The retired musician celebrated her husband’s win in a lengthy Instagram post, saying she was proud but not at all shocked at he and his dance partner’s win.
