Indianapolis FedEx shooting: Police identify eight victims, former employee responsible
Indianapolis Metropolitan Police identified the shooter responsible for the mass shooting at a FedEx facility Thursday evening.

On Thursday, police responded to 8591 Mirabel Road after they received a report that shots were fired inside the FedEx Ground-Plainfield Operation Center.
Eight victims with gunshot wounds were pronounced dead at the facility.
The suspect, identified as 19-year-old Brandon Hole, was found dead with injuries police said are consistent with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Hole had two assault rifles that police say he purchased legally in July and September 2020.
The eight victims of the shooting were identified as:
- 32-year-old Matthew R. Alexander
- 19-year-old Samaria Blackwell
- 66-year-old Amarjeet Johal
- 64-year-old Jaswinder Kaur
- 68-year-old Jaswinder Singh
- 48-year-old Amarjit Sekhon
- 19-year-old Karlie Smith
- 74-year-old John Weisert
The deceased victims have been identified as 32-year-old Matthew R Alexander, 19-year-old Samaria Blackwell, 66-year-old Amarjeet Johal, 64-year-old Jaswinder Kaur, 68-year-old Jaswinder Singh, 48-year-old Amarjit Sekhon, 19-year-old Karlie Smith, and 74-year-old John Weisert.

Many victims in the shooting were members of the Sikh community.

The Sikh Coalition, a civil rights group, tweeted about the shooting, saying it expects law enforcement to conduct a “thorough investigation.”

Police and Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett joined a community prayer vigil held to honor the victims.

According to the Associated Press, Hole was a former employee and FBI agents interviewed him last year after his mother called police to say he might commit “suicide by cop.”
