‘Insecure’ Star Issa Rae Wears Custom Vera Wang To Say ‘I Do’ in Private Ceremony

Issa Rae is a married woman now.

The Insecure writer and actress sported a custom-made Vera Wang dress to meet her fiancé Louis Diame at the alter in a private wedding ceremony in the south of France over the weekend.

In typical Issa Rae fashion, she joked about the ceremony in an Instagram post, claiming she had an “impromptu photo shoot” in the custom dress and her “girls” showed up to support her. Top wedding photographer Lauren Fair snapped some beautiful flicks of her and “somebody’s husband.”

Fans assumed Rae had received a proposal from her longtime beau when she was photographed wearing a ring on her Essence cover in 2019, per E! Online’s Mike Vulpo. She dismissed the then rumors on The View shortly after by noting that she just enjoys wearing jewelry.

While the actress has been known to entertain quite a few men on the television screen, Rae has been known to keep the personal details of her off-screen life on the hush. She has repeatedly said she doesn’t want the outside input.

“I remember, back in the day, I used to post my relationships from a long time ago,” she previously shared with Bustle’s Elaine Welteroth. “And I remember I saw these commenters that I didn’t know, comment on an old picture and be like, ‘See.’ And I was like, ‘Oh, I don’t like this.’ And then, from that point forward, I was like, ‘Oh, I’m never acknowledging anything.'”
