Issa Rae joins the cast of ‘Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse’ sequel   

Issa Rae has been cast in the sequel of the critically acclaimed animated film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verseaccording to The Hollywood Reporter.

The Insecure actress will reportedly voice Spider-Woman. Rae is joining Shameik Moore, who plays Spider-Man, and Hailee Steinfeld, who plays Spider-Gwen.

Released in 2018, Into the Spider-Verse was a critical and financial success, having earned $375 million at the global box office. The movie also earned an Academy Award for best animated film in 2019.

The sequel is scheduled to be released on Oct. 7, 2022.
