Rappers Jay-Z, Nas and Sean “Diddy” Combs endorsed businessman Ray McGuire for New York City Mayor.
In a conversation moderated by NY radio personality Angie Martnez, the hip-hop superstars explained why McGuire is the best person to run the nation’s largest city.
“People come from all over the world and say, ‘If I can make it here, I can make it anywhere that’s the idea we’re trying to protect,” Jay-Z said.

McGuire is running on a platform that will tackle housing, public safety, healthcare and the economy, including a proposal that would bring back 50,000 jobs to New York City, which was majorly impacted by the coronavirus pandemic.
“I am honored to have the support of these legends. Today represents the intersection of politics and hip-hop. This is not new, but it’s important that we are all at the table when decisions are being made about the future of our city,” Ray McGuire said in a statement, according to Black Enterprise.
