King Keraun’s Court: ‘Hiking With Rappers,’ Fatherhood and OG Creator

In Summary

The social media star explained his rise to stardom and new show “Hiking With Rappers” in a wide-ranging hilarious interview.

Some people incorrectly pronounce King Keraun as “Quran,” but call him what his momma named him: King [kē] – run.

“People have been calling me that for so long that I don’t even bother correcting them,” said the 33-year-old social media influencer. “But my momma said I need to start telling them how to say my name right.”

The name King Keraun reverberates across all aspects of social media as one of the original content creators/influencers on multiple platforms. Keraun’s original ideas, skits and stage presence predates the current era of social media where going viral is routine.

He had videos on the six seconds or less platform, Vine, as well as Snapchat. Keraun’s early success led to a massive 2.1 million followers on Instagram and Twitter. He parlayed his social media success to club appearances, NFL Madden commercials, airtime on HBO’s Insecure, ABC’s Black-ish and endorsements.

Keraun’s latest hit is “Hiking With Rappers,” which is a six-episode interview series where Keraun takes your favorite rappers on a physically challenging hike in their favorite Timberland boots. Progressively the trail gets more intense, and so does the interview.

He has interviewed Lil Kim, Big Sean, Fat Joe, Coi LeRay, Rick Ross and Quavo of the Migos.

Hiking with Rappers with Complex and Timberland, airs Thursdays at 10 am ET on Complex’s YouTube channel.

In the wide ranging and hilarious BNC interview, Keraun spoke about his new series, building a future for your family, breaking generational curses, his social media influence and the joys of fatherhood.
