An extra on the popular HBO series Lovecraft Country said the show’s makeup artist darkened her skin on set, NBC News reported.

According to NBC News, Kelli Amirah briefly appeared as a younger version of one of the show’s characters in a wedding photo.

Kelli Amirah said last month on her Tik Tok that she was in a trailer for hair and makeup where she overheard other makeup artists say that she was a “little lighter” than the actress she was portraying.

“So they’re just talking around me, not to me. I’m just on my phone chilling. So they start doing my makeup. I’m half watching them do my makeup, halfway on my phone and I notice my foundation is getting darker and darker,” Amirah said on Tik Tok.

HBO told NBC News that it was “very disappointed” to hear about the incident
