MTV Reveals Nominations for 2021 “Video Music Awards”

MTV reveals the nominations for the 2021 Video Music Awards, which consist of today’s artists who have made an impact in the music industry. Justin Bieber and Megan Thee Stallion take the lead on the list of nominees, along with Bille Eilish, BTS, Doja Cat, Drake, Giveon, Lil Nas X and Olivia Rodrigo, according to a press release.  

The 2021 VMAs will be airing live all across MTV’s digital platforms on September 12 at 8 p.m., and will reach nearly 400 million households.  

Starting today, fans are able to vote for their favorite artist in categories like: 

VIDEO OF THE YEAR 

Cardi B ft. Megan Thee Stallion – “WAP”  

DJ Khaled ft. Drake – “POPSTAR” (Starring Justin Bieber)  

Doja Cat ft. SZA – “Kiss Me More”  

Ed Sheeran – “Bad Habits”  

Lil Nas X – “MONTERO (Call Me By Your Name)”  

The Weeknd – “Save Your Tears” 

 

ARTIST OF THE YEAR 

Ariana Grande

Justin Bieber

“Best Group” and “Song of Summer” will be announced at a later date; however, fans will be able to vote until September 3. Since the reopening of New York City, the award show is bound to be an exciting yet pandemic-safe event. MTV and Barclays Center are conducting top-priority work with local officials to ensure best practices that will keep fans safe.
