According to CNN, the alleged incident took place in 2019 at the Belmont Racetrack in Long Island. The Nassau County District Attorney’s office was investigating.
“Our exhaustive investigation found the allegations credible, deeply troubling, but not criminal under New York law,” Nassau County District Attorney Joyce Smith said. “It is important to note that our investigation was limited to alleged conduct at Belmont Racetrack, and prosecutors in other jurisdictions continue to review other allegations of misconduct by Mr. Cuomo.”
Other jurisdictions are investigating allegations against the former Democratic governor. They came to light after New York Attorney General Letitia James released a report about Cuomo’s conduct on Aug. 3, 2021.
James’ office said Cuomo sexually harassed several women, including an employee who he retaliated against for making a public complaint, BNC previously reported.
The report said, “Specifically, we find that the Governor sexually harassed a number of current and former New York State employees by, among other things, engaging in unwelcome and nonconsensual touching, as well as making numerous offensive comments of a suggestive and sexual nature that created a hostile work environment for women.”
Since the release of the report, fallout has ensued for Cuomo and his family. The former governor resigned from his gubernatorial seat on Aug. 10, 2021.
