New Details in Arlington, Texas High School Shooting

Investigators believe a fight occurred in a classroom on the second floor at Timberview High School just before the shooting occurred.

There are new details about the events which lead to the shooting at Timberview High School.  

Investigators are certain a physical fight broke out on the second floor in a classroom. As a result, four people were injured during the shooting. The victims include a 15-year-old male, a 25-year-old male, and a teenage female who had abrasions, BNC has confirmed. 

Timothy George Simpkins turned himself in to the Ott Cribbs Public Safety Center with an attorney. He’s been booked at the Arlington City Jail and bail is set for $75,000. 

UPDATE: October 6 at 2:23 p.m. 

According to Arlington Police, the suspect has been taken into custody and is charged with multiple counts of aggravated assault with a gun. Most students have now evacuated from Timberview High School. 


UPDATE: October 6 at 12:25 p.m. 

Arlington Police have identified 18-year-old Timothy George Simpkins as a suspect in the shooting. 


Unfortunately, there is another school shooting in America, and it happens to be in Texas. According to CBSDFW.com, police are investigating an active shooter situation at Timberview High School in Arlington. 

Now, according to Maria Guerrero, police have confirmed there were multiple victims in the incident.

“We are on scene at a shooting at Timberview High School. We are doing a methodical search and working closely with @ATFHQ @mansfieldisd Police, @MansfieldPDTX @GrandPrairiePD and other agencies. We will be announcing a parent staging location soon once the location is identified,” Arlington Police said on Twitter

The school is currently on lockdown until the situation is safe and secure. 

BNC’s Nerissa Knight tweeted, “School shooting at Mansfield ISD Timberview HS. a few minutes ago. My daughter texted me from a different school in the district; they’re on lockdown. This is tra umatic. When we were in Santa Clarita there was a school shooting there too sadly in Saugus. Praying everyone is ok.”
