According to CNN, this comes after multiple sexual harassment allegations and his handling of COVID-19 deaths at nursing homes in the state.

“Governor Cuomo must resign,” said House Judiciary Committee Chair Jerry Nadler, adding that he “lost the confidence of New York people.”

Democratic representatives Nydia Velazquez, Grace Meng, Yvette Clarke, Adriano Espaillat, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Jamaal Bowman have released statements calling for his resignation.

Last week, Cuomo said he would not resign and that his office would cooperate with the New York Attorney General’s investigation into the claims against him, according to CBS

The New York Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie authorized an impeachment investigation into the allegations against Cuomo.

Gov. Cuomo is expected to hold a briefing at 1 p.m. on Friday
