Earlier this year, New Hampshire’s GOP-led legislature passed the bill that banned teachers from teaching students certain topics on race, racism, sexism and gender, including:
- A group is inherently superior or inferior to people of another identified group
- A group is inherently racist, sexist, or oppressive, whether consciously or unconsciously
- A group should be discriminated against or receive adverse treatment
- A group should not treat members of other identified groups equally
An earlier version of the bill that limited discussion on “divisive concepts” in schools was opposed by Sununu. However, he did throw his support behind the language in New Hampshire’s budget which blocked educators teaching kids that they belong to an inferior or oppressive identity, The Hill reported.
