Nischelle Turner will be first Black Woman to host ‘Entertainment Tonight’

Nischelle Turner makes history by becoming the first Black woman to co-host widely popular Entertainment Tonight joining Kevin Frazier the show’s current host.

The four-time Emmy winner began her journalism career as a reporter and fill-in anchor in Evansville, Indiana according to a New York Times report.

“I just started crying on the street when I got the news,” Turner said about her initial reaction. “People were probably like, ‘What’s wrong with her?’ But I was so happy.”

In an interview with Variety, Turner says what she is hoping that the audience discovers about her as co-host is simple: “That I care,”

“What you’re thinking at home watching ‘ET,’ and the questions you want to ask, is the same thing I’m thinking,” the report says. “I am your girlfriend, and every night when you watch me, we’re having a kiki session, we’re having a little chat at the end of our day.”
