O.J. Simpson a ‘Completely Free Man’ Following Early Parole Release

O.J. Simpson is now a 100% free man after the Nevada Parole Board made the decision to release him two months early. 

O.J. Simpson was released from a Las Vegas prison in 2017 and as of December 1 he’s a “completely free man,” per The Associated Press

Simpson’s parole was originally scheduled to end in February 2022, but the Nevada Board of Parole Commissioners held an “early discharge hearing” at the request of the Parole and Probation Division.

Marca reported, “A decision to grant early discharge from parole was ratified on December 6, 2021,” adding “the Board awarded credits in an amount equal to the time remaining on the sentence to reduce the sentence to time served.” 

Simpson is a former NFL player, actor and broadcaster who has also been convicted of armed robbery and kidnapping, per Biography.com. In 1994, he was charged with the murders of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ronald Goldman, but was acquitted following a high-profile criminal trial.  

The case was termed “The Trial of the Century” and was recreated in the 2016 FX limited TV series “The People v. O.J. Simpson,” which featured Cuba Gooding Jr. as Simpson.

Simpson was sentenced to up to 33 years in prison in 2008 for the kidnapping and armed robbery of two sports memorabilia dealers in a hotel room in Las Vegas, claiming he was only trying to take back items that belonged to him. He was released on October 1, 2017.
