Pres. Joe Biden expects to run for reelection in 2024

President Joe Biden, 78, said Thursday that he plans to run for reelection in 2024.

“My plan is to run for reelection. That’s my expectation,” he told reporters at his first White House news conference.

During this only-term as president, Donald Trump launched his reelection campaign hours after entering the White House.

“My predecessor needed to,” a laughing Biden said when asked about Trump’s early reelection campaign. “My predecessor, oh God, I miss him.”

Biden, who will be 81-years-old during a second term, re-iterated that he plans to run for office again and that Vice President Kamala Harris will be his running mate, saying “she’s a great partner.”

“I said that’s my expectation,” he said. “Look, I don’t understand where you guys come from. I’m a great respecter of fate; I’m not going to be able to plan 3 1/2 years ahead for certain.”

During his press conference with reporters, the president spoke about reforming the filibuster, immigration and his administration’s plan of having 200 million COVID-19 vaccinations distributed within his first 100 days in office.

The Biden administration blew past its 100 million coronavirus vaccinations goal on Friday, his 59th day in office.

“I know it’s ambitious — twice our original goal — but no other country in the world has come close … to what we’re doing,” he said. “I believe we can do it.

The United States is vaccinating close to 2.5 million Americans per day.
