The original 1937 release of the Disney classic inspired several other films, like Snow White and the Seven Dwarves and Snow White and the Huntsman

Since 2016, Disney has been in the works of putting together live action films of their classic princess movies. According to Variety, Disney is also working on live-action remakes of The Little Mermaid, with Halle Bailey to play Ariel.

Webb is confident about Rachel playing the role of the classic fairytale princess.

“Rachel’s extraordinary vocal abilities are just the beginning of her gifts,” Webb said. “Her strength, intelligence and optimism will become an integral part of rediscovering the joy in this classic Disney fairytale.”

The upcoming film will include original songs like “Someday My Prince Will Come” and “Whistle While You Work”.
