“It’s important for businesses to evolve with modern consumers, generation Z, the millennials. They’re the people spending the money,” Saweetie told iHeart Radio.
Not only does she want young people to learn how to make a brand relevant, but she also shared some advice on how to make a brand relatable to the consumer.
“Pay attention to your consumer. What do they love? What do they believe in? What do you believe in? Know who you’re talking to and know yourself,” she said.
During Saweetie’s time as a student at USC, she made an impact on one of her former business professors Albert Napoli, who invited her to present a guest lecture on entrepreneurship, storytelling and mediation writing to his class in October.
“I saw in her the drive and focus that entrepreneurs have,” Napoli told Daily Trojan in 2019. “She had this passion, this drive. I knew exactly what kind of direction she needed. I see a lot of dreamers and not a lot of doers. Diamonté is definitely a doer.”
“She’s a rare breed,” he adds. “She is the epitome of what you need to become a success.”
