Singer Keyshia Cole’s Mom, Frankie Lons, Dies at 61 from Drug Overdose

Frankie Lons, the mother of R&B singer Keyshia Cole, died on Sunday from a drug overdose at her Oakland home, TMZ reported.

Cole’s brother, Sam, told TMZ that his mother took drugs while she was celebrating her birthday.

“Worse pain ever….to see my mama in a body bag on her birthday,” Elite Noel, Cole’s sister, shared on Instagram, according to Love B. Scott.

Lons’ battle with drug addiction was well documented on various reality series including Keyshia Cole: The Way It Is, which aired in 2006. She became a breakout star and received the BET spin-off Frankie & Neffie, starring herself and her eldest daughter Neffeteria Pugh.
