“The greatest blessing is that not only have I been able to be honest with myself and become a better person, I’ve been able to understand my parents and that they did love me and that they were doing the best they could and they were just sick,” said Dash.

In her battle with drug addiction, she had a good support system that helped her in her journey, according to USA Today.
“I am so blessed to be surrounded by people who have loved and supported me through my most challenging time,” Dash said on Facebook. “I encourage anyone who has a story they are scared of telling to share it with the world. You never know who will be able to relate to you and who it can help. Share this with anyone you know who is needing love and light at this moment.”

The 54-year-old is a well-known actress who has been in films such as Clueless, Renaissance Man, View from the Top and Moving. Dash also was a political commentator on FOX News and ran for Congress in California in 2018, according to USA Today.
