As the medical examiner explained the autopsy to the jury through graphic photos, Arbery’s mother, Wanda Cooper-Jones, left the courtroom. The defendant’s family members also appeared to be disturbed.
Dr. Edmund Donoghue explained that two of the three shotgun rounds hit Arbery in the chest area of his body and caused severe bleeding.

“Is there anything law enforcement or EMS could have done to save his life at the scene?” Asked prosecutor Linda Dunikoski “I don’t think so. No,” Donoghue responded.
After the prosecution final witness in the trial the case dealt with motions filed by defense attorney Kevin Gough and then the trial recessed for the day. The defense will start its case on Wednesday.
The court will discuss how defendants will testify if they chose to do so, according to Judge Timothy Walmsley.
