Tisha Campbell and Tichina Arnold Return as Hosts of Soul Train Awards

The 2021 Soul Train Awards will air on November 28 with Tisha Campbell and Tichina Arnold returning as hosts. 

The 2021 Soul Train Awards will air on Nov. 28, gearing up for another amazing night of Black excellence in music, Entertainment Tonight reported

This year’s ceremony will once again be hosted by Tisha Campbell and Tichina Arnold. The nominations for this year’s award show have also been announced.

H.E.R. comes in first with eight nominations, including Best R&B/Soul Female Artist, Song of the Year, Album of the Year and Video of the Year. Jazmine Sullivan and Chris Brown share second place and each artist is nominated for six awards. Coming third is Wiz Kid and TEMS with five nominations each.  

Singer Ashanti will be given the Lady of Soul Award while Maxwell is set to receive the Legend Award.  

“I’m honored to be recognized as this year’s Lady of Soul honoree,” Ashanti said. “This is a full-circle moment for me because I received the ‘Aretha Franklin Entertainer of the Year’ Award at the Lady of Soul Awards in 2002. As we commemorate 50 years of Soul Train, I’m proud to be a part of this legacy and to return to the Apollo to celebrate.” 

Maxwell also stated, “It’s an honor to be presented with the Legend award by a community that’s been growing with me throughout my career. I’m so grateful to be sharing this moment with everyone and returning to the Apollo for an evening of excellence.”
