Federal authorities have arrested two men allegedly involved in the death of Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick.
Sicknick died from injuries sustained during the violent attack on the U.S. Capitol in January.
The two men, 39-year old George Tanios of West Virginia and 32-year-old Julian Khater of Pennsylvania, were arrested Sunday in connection to his death.
According to the Associated Press, Tanios and Khater allegedly sprayed Sicknick in the face with a chemical, but officials have not determined if it caused his death.

The affidavit supporting the criminal complaint says video shows the two at the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021, working together to spray an unknown chemical directly in officers’ faces and eyes.
Capitol police say Sicknick died after he was injured “while physically engaging with protesters,” and his passing has been considered a line-of-duty death.
The medical examiner’s report is incomplete as Capitol Police say they are waiting on toxicology results.
Each man faces multiple charges, including:
- One count of conspiracy to injure an officer
- Three counts of assault on a federal officer with a dangerous weapon
- One count of civil disorder
- One count of obstructing or impeding an official proceeding
- One count of physical violence on restricted grounds, while carrying a dangerous weapon and resulting in significant bodily injury
- One count of violent entry and disorderly conduct
