US adds 559,000 jobs in May, Labor secretary calls it ‘encouraging’

BNC’s Kelly Wright sits down with the U.S. Secretary of Labor, Marty Walsh, to talk about May’s job report, which showed a gain of 559,000 jobs.   

“These numbers are encouraging. They’re good numbers. They’re strong numbers. It shows that we have a way to go,” Walsh said. 

The unemployment rate for Black people sits at 9.1%, something Walsh calls “discouraging.”
