In SummaryThe 13th season of her show will be pushed back a month.
Wendy Williams has been going through some health problems and had to cancel her public appearances.
“Wendy is dealing with some ongoing health issues and is undergoing further evaluations,” according to The Wendy Williams Show Instagram page on Sept 9. “She will not be able to complete her promotional activities next week, but can’t wait to be back in her purple chair on Monday, September 20th for the 13th season premiere.”
Now, she has another health situation to deal with as she tested positive for a breakthrough case of the coronavirus, according to People.
Breakthrough cases are rare for people who have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Despite not being 100% efficient, vaccines work and are potentially the difference between life and death.
The news of her latest situation was made on The Wendy Williams Show Instagram account.
“While continuing her health evaluations, Wendy has tested positive for a breakthrough case of COVID-19,” said the statement. “To allow Wendy time to quarantine and fully recover and to ensure that our production abides by all SAG/AFTRA and DGA Covid protocols, we expect to begin the 13th season of The Wendy Williams Show on Monday, October 4th. In the meantime, repeats will be scheduled.”
In May 2020, Williams took time off as she was dealing with her Graves’ disease and the fatigue that came with it. She revealed in 2018 that she was diagnosed with Graves’ disease and hyperthyroidism almost two decades prior.
“We take care of everybody but ourselves. I’m not doing that anymore Amy (Robach). Wendy first,” Williams said to Amy Robach on Good Morning America.
