Pat Houston, Whitney’s sister-in-law and former manager, told People that Whitney’s love for cosmetics stemmed from her time modeling and working with so many prominent ladies, including her mother Cissy. She added that a “classic red lip was always a favorite of hers.”

“The idea that is coming to fruition now is something Whitney always wanted to do. I’m pleased we can do something that I know she would have loved,” said Pat. “Whitney was always a champion of women feeling beautiful whether it was a major event or just for everyday wear, [and] our work with M.A.C. is about creating a line that can meet all of those needs. The line will be true to her colors that she loved to work with.”

Whitney is one of the best-selling musicians of all time, with more than 200 million albums sold worldwide. She is also the winner of six Grammy Awards, which contributes to her being one of the most awarded artists in history.
