Curt Miller, head coach and general manager of the Connecticut Sun, has been fined and suspended for a comment he made towards Las Vegas Aces player Liz Cambage on May 23.
After the Sun’s victory over the Aces with a score of 76-65, Cambage called out Miller for complaining to a WNBA official that she was “300 pounds.” Cambage, who pointed out she’s 6-feet-8-inches tall and only 235 pounds, slammed him for his comments, CBS News reported.
She responded on social media, saying Miller was “lucky” he made those comments during a game.

Miller was fined $10,000 and suspended for one game for his words. The Connecticut Sun released a statement on his behalf: “During last night’s game, while arguing a call with an official, I made an inappropriate and offensive comment in reference to Liz Cambage’s height and weight. I regret what I said in the heat of the moment and want to sincerely apologize to Liz and the entire Aces organization. I understand the gravity of my words and have learned from this.”
